The “Seminar for Pre-School Chinese Language Teachers” is an annual event organized by the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL). It aims to enhance pre-school CL teachers’ professional skills and grow their professional support network. The theme for this year is “Teaching and Learning Chinese Language through S.T.E.A.M.”.
(S.T.E.A.M. represents an approach to teaching and learning that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics.)
Q. What can I look forward to in this year's Seminar?
Highlights for this year’s event includes distinguished international keynote speakers, practical sharing by experienced teachers, Award Presentation Ceremony for the Pre-school Chinese Language Storytelling Aids Competition 2021, and virtual exhibition featuring the storytelling aids from this year’s finalists. The Seminar will be conducted in Mandarin.
The event will held on 10 July 2021 virtually on the web platform. Participants are encouraged to log-in punctually at 8.00am. There will not be any meeting link and downloading of any app/software is not required.
Q. Can the hours be recorded in ONE@ECDA?
Similar to Seminar for Pre-school Chinese Language Teachers in previous years, teachers who have attended the Seminar for the majority of the duration will be accorded training hours. The Seminar is also supported by ECDA and NIEC, thus is valid for record in One@ECDA. We have confirmed with ECDA that teachers may update 5 hours of training in his/her CDP portfolio on ONE@ECDA.
Q. What is the closing date for registration? The registration has been closed on 01 July 2021 (Thursday).
Q. Are there any fees for registration and to participate in the Seminar? As always, there are no fees for registration and to participate in the Seminar.
Q. Who can register for the Seminar? The Seminar is only open for registration to pre-school educators currently employed by centres registered with ECDA. Participants must also either be a Singapore Citizen (SC) or Permanent Resident (PR). Members of public who do not meet the criteria above are not eligible to register and participate. Please also note each centre can only register a maximum of 3 participants.
Q. Is this Seminar only open to Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents only? If I am a foreigner / long term pass holder, can I register for this Seminar?
Through various events and projects over the years, the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL) aims to mobilise the local community in organising activities to support the teaching and learning of Chinese Language, as well as complement activities of the local schools, clusters and Centres of Excellence.
We would like to seek your understanding that priority will be given to registrants who are Singapore Citizens (SC) or Permanent Residents (PR), for the Seminar for Pre-school Chinese Language Teachers 2021. Interested parties who are not SCs or PRs, will be considered at a later date on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability.

Q. Which browser should I use to access the Microsite? You are advised to use Google Chrome browser for better access to the Live Streaming. Please ensure that you are connected to a strong and stable internet connection.
Q. How do I login? After you have submitted your registration, a confirmation email will be sent to you along with your account login password. You can click on the 'Login' button located at the top right hand side of the Microsite and log in with your given password.
Q. How can I reset/change my password? Firstly, click on 'Login' button and click on "Forgot your password?". You will then be re-directed to the page where you are required to enter your email address. You will receive an email with reset password instructions upon clicking on "Send me password reset instructions" button.
Q. How do I access to the Live Streaming platform? You will have to login via the event website (https://cpcllpreschseminar21.com.sg/), and under the LIVE-STREAM tab, you can select the 'Access Streaming' button for the sessions.
Q. Will I be able to access to the streams if I am late? Yes, you will still be able to click on the 'Access Streaming' button to enter the session if its is still ongoing.
Q. Will I be able meet the other virtual attendees during the live streaming? No, you will not be able to view the other attendees virtually.
Q. I have questions regarding a specific session topic. How do I send in my enquiry? There will be a 10 minutes live Q&A within each session. We strongly encourage all participants to submit your questions through the available Q&A channel while the session is in progress.
Q. I am experiencing technical issues/cannot access to the Live Streaming platform. What should I do? There is a virtual chat bot feature at the bottom left corner of the webpage, you may send in your enquiry through the chatbot.
